...a Legacy Walk Guided Tour is a way you can help the Legacy Project fund its ongoing work to write Illinois's new LGBTQ-Inclusive Public School Curriculum. You can arrange for your group to take a private tour of the Legacy Walk that combines anecdotal information about our Inductees (not available on the plaques) with the fascinating story behind the creation of the world's largest LGBTQ-focused Historic Landmark.
GENERAL PARAMETERS FOR A GUIDED TOUR...
Your docent will be equipped with a 1000-Watt portable PA system; but all participants are encouraged to keep close to the docent as possible so you can experience the full breadth of what is being said. This can be difficult simply because of the physical limitations of Halsted Street's narrow sidewalks and ambient noise level on a busy, urban thoroughfare.
RAIN POLICY AND CANCELLATIONS
In the event of rain, the tour will be canceled and you will have the option to have your ticket purchase refunded, to apply your purchase to an alternate date, or to release your purchase to the Legacy Project as a donation to help support our education work. In the event you need to cancel due to an unforeseen schedule conflict, refunds will be available up to 24 hours in advance.
Until new guidelines are ordered by the City of Chicago or the State of Illinois, we are essentially resuming normal (pre-COVID) operations. Masks are not required if you are fully vaccinated; but encouraged for those who are not vaccinated, for your own safety.
