The LoriLand Partners, the Legacy Project, and Sidetrack invite you to a very special afternoon celebrating the life of a very special woman. For 40 years Lori Cannon was “Chicago’s AIDS Angel” – always at the forefront of every twist and turn in the harrowing saga of defending and feeding people with AIDS.
Thanks to Lori’s unwavering commitment and vision, the organization she co-founded in 1988 – Open Hand/Chicago Meals-on-Wheels – and its successor – GroceryLand Food Pantry – have delivered or made possible the preparation of nearly 20,000,000 meals for tens of thousands of individuals over four decades.
This special afternoon will feature several multimedia pieces about all the facets of Lori’s life, special guest speakers, music, artifacts, fashion, memorabilia, and collectibles. Come and meet all the “Loris” who became the one you know and love!

Admission is FREE but registration is required. Guests are also asked to bring donations of Non-Perishable Food, Household Paper Goods, Personal Grooming/Feminine Hygiene Products – and CASH – to continue Lori’s work.
