Leonard Bernstein was among the first conductors born and educated in the United States to receive worldwide acclaim. He was best known to the public as the longtime music director of the New York Philharmonic; for conducting concerts by many of the world's leading orchestras; and for writing the music for Candide, On the Town, and West Side Story – his most enduring work. Join us on Thursday August 25th to celebrate the 98th Birthday of Maestro Bernstein with a special screening the Oscar-winning West Side Story – one of the greatest movie musicals ever created.
