Community members gathered Oct. 11 for the unveiling of seven new plaques along Halsted Street's Legacy Walk.

Today, National Coming Out Day, the Chicago Legacy Project will dedicate seven new bronze plaques recognizing LGBT heroes along its Legacy Walk, a series of biographical markers along North Halsted Street.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- New memorial plaques on Chicago's North Side are dedicated in commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history.
