Get a taste of LGBTQ history with the Legacy Walk

Chicago is one of the most inclusive cities in the country, with a long and vibrant LGBTQ+ history. Come explore the local museums, tours, and landmarks that celebrate our Chicago’s LGBTQ+ heroes, history, and culture including The Legacy Walk.

Many cast members of the Rent 20th Anniversary Tour were in Chicago on May 8 and stopped by Musical Monday at Sidetrack for a benefit concert titled A Season Of Love. The cast performed cabaret-style renditions of a variety of songs to raise money for The Legacy Project Chicago.

Chicago, IL - About $2,000 was raised to benefit The Legacy Project Chicago on Monday, May 8, during A SEASON OF LOVE BENEFIT CONCERT, held at Sidetrack.

Lit with spotlights in the center of the Indiana Memorial Union’s East Lounge, the curving structure of the “Legacy Wall” displays information about the LGBT community and its history on the blue fabric hook background.

This month the Indiana Memorial Union will be the next stop for “The Legacy Wall” — a traveling, interactive LGBT history exhibit, according to a press release.
